These landings ensure that the lower ground floors of the
duplexes are only 10m wide and this generates wider peripheral
views through the courtyard windows of these levels. The
landings contribute to the animation of the building by serving
as common balconies that extend the individual apartments.
Because the site offers limited natural light, the facade
is punctured with large full-height windows that deliver
more luminescent interiors. The rhythm of these windows is
contrasted with a warm color-stipled facade that was achieved
by sprinkling the surfaces of the anthracite pre-cast concrete
elements with an orange oxide.
